Extreme Kids & Crew
Extreme Kids & Crew is an arts and play space for children with special needs; it’s also a place for their families to share resources. Our multi-year renewal grant supports the expansion of the Teen Crew and Girls Crew programs, allowing the organization to keep pace with its participants as they age.
"My three sons, all diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, truly enjoy the programs Extreme Kids & Crew has to offer! Before Teens Crew's inception at Ridgewood Space in 2017, my dear friend's daughter had been attending Girls Crew there and informed me about this new program for kids ages 11+ and their siblings. At the time my identical twin sons were 11 years old and my youngest son was 5, so Teens Crew was a great fit for our family. Now that I have become the Program Parent for Teens Crew, I have the wonderful opportunity of welcoming other families into the program. Teens Crew gives kids with special needs and their families a chance to simply be themselves, build friendships, and have fun together. The monthly meet-ups give my twins something exciting to look forward to. They enjoy reconnecting with old friends and making new ones, as do I. My family and I are grateful for Extreme Kids & Crew - where it truly is "A Space To Be!"
