Genesys Works New York City (GWNYC) supports rising high school seniors in paving a path to economic self-sufficiency and a lifetime of career success by providing business and technology skills training, paid year-long internships, connections to professional networks, and college access and persistence services.
Funding from the Meringoff Family Foundation is helping launch a new marketing strategy to raise GWNYC’s corporate profile as a catalyst for program growth and increased opportunities for young professionals. With this support, GWNYC will hire a Marketing Specialist to expand its corporate partnerships.
“Most high school students aren’t able to get an opportunity where they can learn about the corporate world and get a chance to intern at big companies. As an intern on the Accounts Payable team, I was responsible for auditing company expense reports, entering invoices from vendors, answering employee emails, and more. And I learned so much from my supervisor, such as how to work with different types of people in a workplace.”
